Culture
Culture is something that is held very near and dear to those at Robb. We are one of the oldest colleges currently on campus at UNE and have one of the strongest alumni connections out of them. Because of this, we have developed a strong culture of support, creating opportunities and helping everyone achieve their best.
Throughout the year we have numerous events that help to showcase the talent of students and also to help give students the opportunities to be involved with a wide range of activities, some they may know well and others they may not have been exposed to before. If you're in the area, definitely contact the college and see if there are any of these events running while you're here!
Robb Arts Exhibition
This is one of our greatest chances to showcase the amazing talents that our students possess in regards to arts and handicrafts. Starting back in 1988, the Art Exhibition has been going on for almost thirty years and is held in conjunction with our Parents' Weekend. The exhibition is organised by our Cultural Officer and is a great opportunity to see the range of talents that don't always get to come to the forefront whilst at university.
We offer three prizes for this event - one for the best photographic entry; one for the best general art entry; and the final is our Max Webster Art Prize, where the College purchases the winning piece and displays it around the college.
Inter-Court Debating Night
Our annual inter-court debating night is held between teams of students - South Court, North Court, West Court and Affiliates. Our Cultural Officer chooses the topics and runs the night as teams speak in front a panel of judges to decide a winning team.
The Sir Frank Kitto Competition
The Sir Frank Kitto (SFK) Competition is an inter-college event that runs throughout the course of the year. There is a range of different activities to participate in, and is a great way to help showcase talents and skills with the support of your college. See more about the SFK Competition.
